We regularly carry out evaluations of our interventions to ensure that they continue to effectively address failures in the market. We typically commission an independent evaluator who works with us to understand the impact of our programmes on UK businesses. This involves a range of research methods, which generally includes quantitative and qualitative surveys and interviews with businesses and other important stakeholders.
Evaluation research provides important evidence to help inform the direction of current and future market interventions, and allows us to assess whether these represent value-for-money to the taxpayer. Examples of previous evaluation research publications can be found at https://www.british-business-bank.co.uk/research/ under ‘Evaluations of our Programmes’
